EU: We are keeping in touch with Ukraine and US teams during Abu Dhabi talks
The European Commission is in constant contact with the negotiating teams of Ukraine and the United States who took part in talks with the Russian side in Abu Dhabi (UAE), in order to stay informed about the course of the discussions.
The EU is following the talks in Abu Dhabi through the Ukrainian and American negotiators.
Paula Pinho, European Commission's chief spokesperson, confirmed that they were in touch both before and after the talks.
She specified that the European Commission maintains contact with the Ukrainian and US delegations who are present at the talks to learn about the progress of these discussions.
Trilateral talks between the US, Ukraine and Russia took place in Abu Dhabi on 23–24 January.
According to Axios, the next round of trilateral talks between Ukraine, the US and Russia in the United Arab Emirates is scheduled for Sunday 1 February.
Among the topics discussed were territorial issues. Ukraine insists that discussions should be based on the current line of contact, while Russia continues to demand the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the unoccupied part of Donetsk Oblast.
