Trump says he alone intimidates Russia and China and that even NATO allies fear him
US President Donald Trump has again claimed that only his actions have pushed other NATO allies to spend more on defence and that, without him, Russia would have seized Ukraine long ago.
The US leader reminded "all of those big NATO fans" that before his presidency most NATO members spent 2% of GDP or less on defence and that the United States was "foolishly, paying for them". He claimed that because of him the spending threshold has risen to 5% and that everyone has quickly agreed, despite earlier warnings that this was impossible.
"Without my involvement, Russia would have ALL OF UKRAINE right now. Remember, also, I single-handedly ENDED 8 WARS, and Norway, a NATO Member, foolishly chose not to give me the [Nobel] Peace Prize. But that doesn't matter! What does matter is that I saved Millions of Lives. RUSSIA AND CHINA HAVE ZERO FEAR OF NATO WITHOUT THE UNITED STATES, AND I DOUBT NATO WOULD BE THERE FOR US IF WE REALLY NEEDED THEM," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
Trump omitted NATO allies' role in the operation in Afghanistan after the 2001 attacks.

He also said that "EVERYONE IS LUCKY THAT I REBUILT OUR MILITARY" during his first term and promised to continue strengthening it.
"We will always be there for NATO, even if they won't be there for us. The only Nation that China and Russia fear and respect is the DJT REBUILT USA," he added.
Earlier this week, Trump again spoke actively about seeking to control Greenland and the White House press secretary said a military option was "always an option".
Denmark's Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen believes that a possible forcible seizure of Greenland by the US would bring the North Atlantic Alliance to an end.
