German company provides ground robot to Ukraine

German defence company ARX Robotics has handed over a Gereon RCS ground robotic system to a Ukrainian brigade.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said on X that he began his visit to Germany by touring the production of Gereon RCS systems.

One of these systems will be delivered to a Ukrainian brigade under the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Gereon RCS is used for evacuating wounded soldiers and delivering essential supplies.

ARX Robotics said it would operate taking into account Ukraine's urgent needs on the battlefield.

The United States is expecting NATO member states to announce new pledges to purchase American weapons for Ukraine under the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) programme when NATO defence ministers meet in Brussels on 12 February.

On 12 February, it was reported that the UK is to join in purchasing US weapons for Ukraine under the PURL programme.

The UK has also announced an additional £500 million in urgent air defence aid for Ukraine.
