Boris Johnson sees no chance at present of ending Russo-Ukrainian war
Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson believes there is currently no real chance of achieving peace in the Russo-Ukrainian war.
According to Johnson, on one side of the peace negotiations table sits Russian leader Vladimir Putin, who has repeatedly shown that he has no genuine intention of seeking peace.
He said at a special YES meeting organised by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation to mark the fourth year of Russia's full-scale invasion that there is no evidence that any of this is something real and some of the proposed plans at the moment look like a purely abstract set of ideas.
Johnson also noted that Ukraine's allies are currently applying about one-tenth of the pressure that needs to be put on Putin to make him seriously come to the negotiating table.
In his address marking the fourth anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed the importance of a visit by the US president to Ukraine so that he could understand that pressure should be applied to Russia.
Meanwhile, Ukraine expects the next round of negotiations with the United States and Russia to take place closer to 27 February.
