Netherlands to provide over €20m to support Ukraine's energy sector

The Netherlands are set to provide transformers to support Ukraine's energy sector, Denys Shmyhal, Ukraine's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, has announced.

Shmyhal and Aukje de Vries, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, agreed on the supply of transformers of various capacities, along with a €23 million (approximately US$25 million) contribution from the Netherlands to support Ukraine's energy sector.

"Aukje de Vries stressed that the Netherlands will continue to support Ukraine's energy sector," Ukraine's Energy Ministry said in a statement on social media.

A day earlier, Shmyhal said that Norway had signed a new contribution of €86.4 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.

It was also reported that Sweden had decided to allocate US$100 million in energy support.

France has announced €70 million to support projects to be implemented in Ukraine as part of the Critical Infrastructure Support Fund.
