Witkoff and Kushner's visit to Ukraine 'slightly delayed'

Monday, 24 August 2026 —

The long-awaited visit to Ukraine by US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner has been postponed again.

"Sources tell me the highly anticipated Witkoff-Kushner trip to Ukraine has been 'slightly delayed, not cancelled' – due to last week's intensified missile and drone strikes on Kyiv," Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty journalist Alex Raufoglu reported.

Raufoglu also noted that six European leaders had arrived in Kyiv on 23 August: the leaders of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Denmark, Norway and Finland.

On 24 August, UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham will arrive in Ukraine on his first international visit. He is expected to announce support for Ukraine's production of long-range missiles.

As early as late July, reports in the media said that Witkoff and Kushner were likely to visit Kyiv during Ukraine's Independence Day celebrations.
