Lithuanian defence minister: Russia has not yet made a specific decision to attack Baltic states

Lithuanian Defence Minister Robertas Kaunas has stated that while Russia is considering the possibility of attacking critical infrastructure in the Baltic region using Ukrainian drones, no specific decision has yet been made.

As reported by Lithuanian public broadcaster LRT, Kaunas noted that Lithuania, together with other NATO partners, is currently observing "a planning phase on Russia's part".

"A decision to carry out any particular operation has not been made as of today. There are no direct threats that something will happen in the near future, on the nearest day – there is no such date," the minister said.

It was previously reported that Lithuanian military intelligence has data indicating Russia is considering attacks on critical infrastructure in the Baltic region using Ukrainian drones. Kaunas himself confirmed this information.

US intelligence, meanwhile, has noted that Kremlin ruler Vladimir Putin may attempt to test NATO's resolve by carrying out a limited strike against one of the Alliance's member states within the next few years.
