Kuleba Accused Congresswoman Spartz of Promoting Russian Narratives

Monday, 18 July 2022

The statements of congresswoman Victoria Spartz resonated incomparably greater in Ukraine than in the United States. The context coincides with the Russian narrative.

"I'm not throwing around these complicated words. This narrative was launched 100% by the Russian Federation. Then Ms. Spartz said they would be searching for their weapons in Syria or Mexico. I understand why because the word "Mexico" works perfectly in U.S. domestic policy. I cannot say whether she is consciously or unconsciously spreading this narrative. I want to make it clear. But her narrative and the Russian narrative coincide. This is the fact, and everyone sees that" Forbes quotes Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba.

He stated disinformation on the weapons supplied by partners to Ukraine might end up in other countries and began to spread in the media of countries that Ukraine rightly considers close to Russia.

"Then the director of Interpol said: "You know, based on the experience of other conflicts, we can predict such a risk exists." Then, at a UN Security Council meeting, the representative of Russia already officially threw out this story. Russia has been steadily spreading it in the previous two months. I saw this from the very beginning. We warned our partners the Russians would do it," Kuleba said.

He also commented on the Financial Times article, which cites unnamed sources that weapons from Ukraine may be found in other countries one day.

"When the respected Financial Times newspaper published the article, I think they stressed themselves a lot. First, by changing the headline, then by getting into troubles with the European Union, NATO, and the United States, saying out loud they trust Ukraine completely and have nothing to worry about," the minister added.

As previously reported, Congresswoman Victoria Spartz emphasized the alleged obstacles in establishing oversight of American military aid to Ukraine in an interview with European Pravda.
