Canada to Grant Ukraine Nearly $350 Million for Gas before the Heating Season

Canada will grant Ukraine 450 million Canadian dollars (nearly 350 million US dollars) in aid for purchasing gas ahead of the heating season.

"Another step of solidarity from friendly Canada. Ukraine will receive 450 million Canadian dollars in aid for purchasing gas ahead of the heating season," Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal wrote on his Twitter.

The G7 is waiting for Ukraine to appoint the Naftogaz board for the heating season.

According to the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Herman Halushchenko, as a result of the Russian invasion, consumption of natural gas in Ukraine has decreased by 40%.
