Shmyhal and Zelenska met with King Charles

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and First Lady Olena Zelenska met with King Charles III on the day of his mother's funeral, Queen Elizabeth II.

"I was honored to meet His Majesty King Charles III at Buckingham Palace. Together with First Lady Olena Zelenska, we expressed our condolences on behalf of the President, the government, and the people of Ukraine on the death of Queen Elizabeth II," he wrote on Telegram.

The Prime Minister and the First Lady thanked the UK and the King personally for the constant strong support of Ukraine.

"I emphasized that the Ukrainian people would be happy to welcome King Charles III to our country in the future," Shmyhal wrote.

Denys Shmyhal said that during his visit to the UK, he met with the Speaker of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, Sir Lindsay Hoyle.

On Sunday evening, Denys Shmyhal, First Lady Olena Zelenska, Ambassador of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko, and his wife honored the Queen in Westminster Hall.

The British media also reported that the Princess of Wales met with Olena Zelenska on the eve of the Queen's funeral. Kate held an audience at Buckingham Palace.
