The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine calls on the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to pay attention to the video of the horrific execution of a Ukrainian prisoner by the Russian military.

"The killing of a Ukrainian prisoner of war captured on video is a grave breach of the Geneva Conventions and is a war crime in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine states.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged the Prosecutor's Office of the International Criminal Court to immediately pay attention to "immediately investigate yet another atrocity of the Russian military in the context of the investigation of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by citizens of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine."

Earlier, Dmytro Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, stated that a horrific video of Russian troops' cruel execution of a Ukrainian prisoner of war emphasises the need to kick Russia out of the UN Security Council and the UN in general.

Kuleba's comment refers to a new video circulating on Russian Telegram channels where Russian soldiers behead a Ukrainian prisoner of war.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia stated that after such facts it is impossible to talk about any dialogue with Russia or the presence of Russian athletes at the Olympic Games.
