The President of Poland Andrzej Duda has met in Warsaw with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who had arrived in the Polish capital together with his wife Olena.

The meeting ceremony was streamed online by the Office of the President of Ukraine.

President Duda, together with his wife Agata, greeted the Zelenskyy couple in the presidential palace with military honours and an orchestra.

According to the visit plan, the leaders will hold talks in the presidential palace. Afterwards, negotiations will take place as part of the delegations.

They are going to discuss military assistance to Ukraine, post-war rebuilding and Ukraine's path to the European Union and NATO, as well as historical issues.

Andrzej Duda and Volodymyr Zelenskyy will give a speech together at 18:00.

This is Zelenskyy's first official visit to Warsaw during the full-scale war. The presidents of Ukraine and Poland have crossed paths twice "in work mode" in Rzeszów – in December 2022 and February 2023. 

Ukraine's president has traveled abroad only twice during the full-scale invasion - to Washington and London, Paris and Brussels.

Zelenskyy arrived in Poland on April 5.
