Zelenskyy Shared with Sunak That Ukraine Urgently Needs to Strengthen Its Air Defenсe

On Tuesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak.

"I spoke about Russia's daily attempts to destroy Odesa's historic center and port infrastructure. We must defend Odesa. Ukraine urgently needs to strengthen its air defense to protect its historical heritage and continue the Black Sea Grain Initiative," Zelenskyy wrote on Twitter.

During the phone call, they also discussed defence cooperation and the progress of Ukrainian offensive operations.

Zelenskyy shared with Sunak information about Ukraine's current defence needs.

Additionally, the Ukrainian President discussed with the British Prime Minister the involvement of several countries in the declaration of support for Ukraine at the NATO Summit in Vilnius.

Furthermore, during the conversation, the leaders coordinated future steps to fill the agreement "with concrete security guarantees on a bilateral basis," Zelenskyy added.

Earlier, British intelligence explained why Russia intensified attacks on Odesa and the port infrastructure in southern Ukraine after July 18.
