Lithuania's President Awarded Ukrainian Officials, Including Zaluzhnyi

Marking Lithuania's Statehood Day, President Gitanas Nauseda has awarded orders and medals to nearly 80 Lithuanian and foreign citizens, including Ukrainians.

According to LRT, among the honoured were high-ranking Ukrainian politicians and military officials, including Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, and Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna.

Denys Shmyhal was awarded the Commander's Cross of the Order of Gediminas, Oleksii Reznikov received the Commander's Cross of the Order of the Knight's Cross, and Valeriy Zaluzhnyi was honoured with the Officer's Cross of the Order of the Knight's Cross.

Today, on July 6th, Lithuania celebrates Statehood Day and the Day of the National Anthem.

Previously, President of Poland Andrzej Duda presented Ukrainian President Volodymyr the highest state award of the Republic of Poland – the Order of the White Eagle.

Prior to that, President of France Emmanuel Macron honoured Zelenskyy with the Order of the Legion of Honour.
