Germany Sends New Military Aid Package with 20 Marder Infantry Vehicles

Germany has handed over a new package of military aid to Ukraine, including two Wisent 1 demining tanks and 20 Marder 1A3 infantry fighting vehicles.

The report of the German government says that the new aid package includes:

  • 20 Marder infantry fighting vehicles with ammunition;
  • 3,000 rounds of 155 mm ammunition;
  • two Wisent 1 demining tanks;
  • materials for the disposal of explosive devices;
  • 1 satellite communications surveillance system;
  • 2 mobile antenna mast systems; 
  • 10 drone detection systems;
  • a 8x8 HX81 truck tractor and 4 semi-trailers; 
  • 5 8x8 lifting trucks; 
  • 9 vehicles;
  • 3 ambulance cars; 
  • 1.5 million rounds of ammunition for firearms.

It became known on Monday that the German government had instructed Rheinmetall to supply 40 Marder infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine. 

In March 2023, the company had already delivered the first 20 infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine at the request of the federal government. 

In addition, 20 additional infantry fighting vehicles from Rheinmetall were put into operation in June 2023. They have recently been delivered to Ukraine.
