Ukrainian foreign minister to visit Poland

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha will be on a working visit to Warsaw on 29 September.

The programme of the visit includes bilateral meetings with Marshal of the Polish Senate Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, NATO Parliamentary Assembly President Marcos Perestrello, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi and other senior officials as well as participation in the 12th edition of the Warsaw Security Forum.

As part of the forum, Sybiha will take part in a panel discussion entitled Increasing the Stakes: Should Europe Be Feared together with his Polish, French and German counterparts.

At the invitation of Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, Sybiha will also join a ministerial meeting in the Weimar+ format with the Polish, German and French foreign ministers.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry emphasised that the purpose of the visit is to consolidate transatlantic support for Ukraine, increase pressure on Russia, promote European and Euro-Atlantic integration and discuss the achievement of a just peace.

Poland scrambled fighter jets during a Russian combined aerial attack on Ukraine on the night of 27-28 September.

A Russian missile damaged the Polish Embassy in Ukraine.
