Trump believes he can also stop Russia's war against Ukraine

US President Donald Trump has said he will eventually succeed in resolving the war that Russia is waging against Ukraine.

Trump once again boasted that he had "settled seven wars" and added that "we're close to settling an eighth".

"I think we'll end up settling the Russia situation [Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine], which is horrible. Seven thousand people died last week, by the way, in Russia, between Russia and Ukraine. I think we'll settle that," Trump said in remarks to journalists.

He stressed that he does not believe "anybody in history settled that many".

Trump recently said that resolving the war launched by Russia against Ukraine has turned out to be more difficult than achieving peace in the Middle East.

He also noted that tariffs are an important part of his ability to make peace deals.
