As reported by Ukraine's Ministry of Energy, the equipment was directed to medical and social institutions in Kyiv. In particular, the generators were delivered to specialised hospitals, the outpatient clinic of the Bohomolets National Medical University, the National Institute of Phthisiology, Pulmonology and Allergology, city clinical hospitals, emergency medical services and diagnostic centres.
Since 2022, Ukraine has received 149 humanitarian shipments of energy equipment from Azerbaijan, with a total value of around €10.5 million.
The assistance from Baku has included backup power plants, power transformers, transformer substations, cable products and other equipment for the repair and rebuilding of Ukraine's energy facilities.
On Monday 23 February, the Italian government also handed over 10 electricity generators to Ukraine with a total capacity of 1,500 kVA.
Last week, Finland announced that it will deliver 52 generators to Ukraine during February.
On 12 February, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that the capital had received another batch of 323 generators from the European Union. Some of them were used to power heating substations in residential buildings.
The first batch (177 generators), delivered earlier, has been installed at individual heating substations in residential buildings where this is technically possible.
