Media: Zelenskyy to hold meeting with Macron on Friday
French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy are set to meet in Paris on 13 March.
According to a BFMTV source from the French president's office cited by the TV network, the meeting between the two presidents will take place at the Élysée Palace.
"Both leaders will discuss the current situation, France's support and that of European partners to help Ukraine defend itself, as well as ways to increase pressure on Russia, notably by countering its shadow fleet," the Élysée Palace said.
The leader will also talk about the conditions for a just and lasting peace and take stock of commitments made within the Coalition of the Willing regarding security guarantees.
A meeting of the Coalition of the Willing took place on 24 February, marking the anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion. Participants reaffirmed their role in providing multi-layered security guarantees for Ukraine with US support.
On 6 January, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a declaration of intent on the potential deployment of troops in Ukraine if a peace agreement is concluded.
