Media: Russian components found in drone that attacked UK airbase in Cyprus
Russian-made components have been found in a kamikaze drone that recently attacked a British airbase in Cyprus.
As reported by The Times, an Iranian drone struck the UK military base in Akrotiri in Cyprus on Sunday 1 March.
It reportedly contained a Russian-made Kometa-B navigation system, which was first detected in drones intercepted by Ukrainian air defence forces in December.
After that, British military intelligence sent the components recovered to a laboratory in the United Kingdom for further examination.
UK Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy recently said that Royal Air Force fighter jets could legally strike targets in Iran used for attacks on the UK's military facilities in the Middle East.
The UK has already granted the US permission to use British bases to carry out defensive strikes on Iran's missile facilities.
