Citizens of Germany, the Netherlands, and France Are in Favor of Ukraine’s Candidacy - Poll

Residents of France, Germany, and the Netherlands are mostly in favor of granting Ukraine EU candidate status.

New Europe Center, which is associated with European Pravda, asked people in Germany, France, and the Netherlands if they support granting Ukraine candidate status in the EU as soon as possible.

Among those who made their mind, 68% of Germans, 65% of French, and 65% of Dutch support Ukraine's candidacy, while 32% of Germans and 35% of French and Dutch disagree.

In Germany, among all, 46% are in favor of granting Ukraine EU candidate status, 22% disagree, 25% neither agree nor disagree, and 7% do not know.

In France, 42% of respondents support Ukraine's candidate status, 24% disagree, 26% neither agree nor disagree, and another 9% do not know.

And in the Netherlands, 45% of respondents support Ukraine's candidacy, 24% disagree, 21% neither agree nor disagree, and another 10% do not know.

 

The opinion poll was commissioned by New Europe Center and conducted in France, Germany, and the Netherlands by Kantar company from 9th till 13th June 2022 under the support of Prague Civil Society Center.

They asked 1,048 citizens of Germany, 1,050 citizens of France, and 1,037 citizens of the Netherlands.

It is the first published poll on this matter before the European Commission's conclusion on granting Ukraine EU candidate status.
