Wednesday, 15 February 2023

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has stated that Alliance member states constantly discuss with Ukraine accounting of the provided military assistance.

According to the "European Pravda" reporter from Brussels, he told journalists about this on Wednesday at a press conference after the NATO ministerial meeting.

"The best proof that assistance to Ukraine is working and helping it is Ukraine's progress on the battlefield. Allies, of course, are constantly working with Ukraine to make sure that all funding ends up where it should," said the NATO Secretary General.

He specified that both the Alliance and the member states "are in close contact with Ukraine all the time to ensure the necessary accounting and transparency."

As reported, the issue of how to ensure greater accountability regarding the accounting of weapons provided by partners for the war against Russia has been discussed among other issues during the meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group on Tuesday, 14 February.

"Today there was a report, in particular, that the modern NATO checking systems that we use are primarily the LOGFAS system. We invited any country, if necessary, to check up to the unit, to the battalion, the place where the weapons from their country are located," Ukraine's Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov told journalists.
