The Swedish parliament, Riksdag, has greenlighted a new assistance package to Ukraine amounting to SEK 3.25 billion (roughly 270 million euros).

As reported by the Riksdag's website, Kyiv will receive spare parts and emergency supplies at a value of a maximum of SEK 1.1 billion (rougly 90 million euros), and in the form of ammunition with ammunition components, mine-clearance equipment and transport vehicles at a value of a maximum of SEK 2.15 billion (roughly 180 million euros).

Riksdag has also decided to give the Government the opportunity to sell a limited number of air-to-air missiles of the type Rb 99 (AMRAAM) to the USA, which will then be transferred to Ukraine.

This decision means that the expenditure area for defence and contingency measures in the central government budget will be increased by SEK 545 million (roughly 46 million euros) in 2023.

As previously reported, the Swedish government is preparing a thirteenth assistance package for Ukraine worth SEK 3.4 billion Swedish (roughly 287 million euros).

In late June, the Swedish government presented a new aid package for Ukraine for humanitarian needs and reconstruction, amounting to SEK 380 million (32.51 million euros).

In July, Sweden decided to allocate a record amount towards Eurointegration and the reconstruction of Ukraine.
