Ukraine deploys mission in Denmark to share drone defence experience – Zelenskyy
Ukraine has sent a mission to Denmark to share battle-tested expertise in downing hostile drones.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyyconfirmed that Ukrainian forces are already working with partners to share drone-defence tactics.
"Our guys arrived to take part in the joint exercises with partners, which could become the foundation for a new system to counter Russian and any other drones," Zelenskyy wrote on X.
Zelenskyy added that Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi has submitted the first update from the team in Denmark.
"Ukraine's experience is the most relevant in Europe today, and it is precisely our expertise, our specialists, and our technologies that can become a key element of Europe's future Drone Wall – a large-scale project that will guarantee security in the skies.
I instructed the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the minister of defence of Ukraine, and the secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine to work swiftly with all European partners who are truly capable of deploying a system to counter drones. The results of the mission in Denmark will shape the framework for cooperation with other European countries as well," he added.
Last week, several mysterious drones of an unspecified type were spotted near critical infrastructure and military sites in Denmark, causing airport operations to suspend for several hours.
Following these incidents, Copenhagen announced plans to urgently enhance its drone countermeasure capabilities, including considering interceptor drones.
Unofficial reports suggested that the Danish Armed Forces issued a secret order to mobilise part of the reserve following the incidents, while NATO has increased its presence in the Baltic Sea.
