G7 ambassadors held an urgent meeting with Ukrainian Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk and representatives from the energy sector on Friday 10 October to discuss support in response to Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy and civilian infrastructure.

As reported by G7 Ambassadors' Support Group in Ukraine on X (Twitter), in addition to Minister Hrynchuk, the meeting included representatives from Naftogaz of Ukraine (Ukraine's state-run leading fuel and energy company), Ukrenergo (Ukraine's state-run energy operator) and Energoatom (Ukraine's state-run nuclear power operator).

According to the G7 Ambassadors' Support Group, they discussed Russian attacks on energy and civilian infrastructure, ways to support Ukraine in countering further strikes, and addressing the country's most urgent needs.

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha called on partners to respond decisively to Russia's strikes on critical civilian infrastructure on the night of 9-10 October.

EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarína Mathernová stated that by targeting energy facilities in Ukraine, Russia is committing war crimes that cannot be forgiven.
