Belarusian leader is dreaming of how "stinking Europe" will pay him for "clean air"
Self-proclaimed Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko has complained that clean air from Belarus is being carried by the wind to Europe and that Europe is not paying for it.
As reported by BelTA, a Belarusian state-owned news outlet, visiting the Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve, a nature reserve in the northern part of Belarus, Lukashenko stressed the need to preserve it.
"The time will come when this stinking Europe will pay us for preserving what we've got from God," he said.
Lukashenko complained that the wind carries clean air to the EU and Belarus receives no money for it.
"Instead of paying us, they start strangling us with sanctions. This will pass. It is already passing. I think the time is not far off when they will be paying us for it," he added.
Lukashenko recently called Lithuania's decision to completely close its border with Belarus a "mad scam".
Meanwhile, the spokeswoman for the Belarusian dictator, Natallia Eismant, has said that the Russian Oreshnik missile system will go on combat duty in Belarus by the end of 2025.
