President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been scheduled to travel from Brussels to Rome on 9 December.

On 7 December, following Zelenskyy's conversation with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, the Italian government published a statement saying that the call took place ahead of a series of working visits that the Ukrainian president "will be making to London, Brussels and Rome over the coming days as part of his contacts with key European leaders on the peace process in Ukraine".

At the same time, details of Zelenskyy's planned trip to the Italian capital are currently unknown.

During the conversation with the Ukrainian president, Meloni confirmed Italy's solidarity after a new series of Russian attacks on Ukrainian civilian facilities and said that shipments would be sent to support the energy infrastructure and the population.

Zelenskyy said that during the conversation they discussed the results of his contacts with the American side and the existing prospects and challenges.

On 8 December in London, Zelenskyy will meet the leaders of the United Kingdom, France and Germany and will then fly to Brussels for talks with the EU and NATO leadership.

Zelenskyy's diplomatic tour is taking place after a series of meetings between representatives of Ukraine and the US concerning a "peace agreement".
