Kallas: Around 30 drone-related companies to be included in EU's 21st sanctions package against Russia
More than 30 companies involved in drone production, along with other companies and export items supporting Russia's defence industrial base, will be included in the European Union's new 21st sanctions package against Russia.
As reported by a European Pravda correspondent in Brussels, the EU's 21st sanctions package against Russia will target drone manufacturers and other companies supporting Russia's defence industry.
"We are also targeting companies providing support to Russia military-industrial complex. The new listings will cover more than 30 designations in the drones manufacturing…" Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, wrote on X.
She said that new export control measures will also be imposed on 50 companies, including entities based in China, Türkiye, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, the United Arab Emirates and India.
"We will also restrict export of additional materials and technologies, such as nickel powders, metal and high-performance alloys to further disrupt Russia's production capacity. Import of new items, including car parts, several precious metals ores and chemicals will also be restricted," the EU's top diplomat added.
On 9 June, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen presented the EU's proposed 21st sanctions package against Russia.
Among other measures, the package proposes entry bans to the EU for Russian combatants who have fought against Ukraine.
The 21st sanctions package must now be reviewed and unanimously approved by the Council of the European Union.
According to European Pravda's sources, the EU aims to adopt the 21st sanctions package by 15 July, ahead of the deadline for revising the price cap on Russian oil.
