European Pravda learns when US will deliver 500 Patriot missiles to Ukraine

Monday, 2 November 2026 — , from Brussels

Ukraine will be able to receive the 500 Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) interceptor missiles for its Patriot air defence systems between the fourth quarter of 2030 and the fourth quarter of 2033. Their sale has been approved by the US State Department.

"The estimated delivery timeframe for the PAC-3 missiles under the proposed arms sale to Ukraine, announced on 30 October, is from the fourth quarter of 2030 to the fourth quarter of 2033," an unnamed US State Department official told European Pravda.

The State Department also explained that the conclusion of the corresponding PAC-3 procurement agreement is to take place after it is approved by the US Congress, a process for which 30 days are allocated.

"Foreign Military Sales agreements are concluded through the signing of a Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOA). The parties can agree on an LOA after the conclusion of the 30-day US congressional review period," the official added.

On 30 October, the US State Department approved a possible deal to sell PAC-3 missiles for Patriot air defence systems to the Ukrainian government.

The procurement is to be funded by international partners, including Canada, Germany and Norway, through the US JUMPSTART programme, as well as by national resources financed through the EU's US$90 billion Ukraine Support Loan.

Negotiations are already underway with Kyiv's partners to persuade certain countries to yield their place in the queue to purchase PAC-3s from US manufacturer Lockheed Martin to Ukraine, which would enable the Ukrainian military to receive the interceptors as soon as possible.

Discussions are also underway on a proposal for allied countries, primarily EU member states, to supply Ukraine with Patriot interceptor missiles from their existing stockpiles in exchange for replacement missiles after 2030.

Zelenskyy said Ukraine has been receiving an average of only 12 missiles per month for Patriot systems in 2026.
