The President of Czechia Petr Pavel presented the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky with the legendary Czech pistol CZ 75 during his visit to Kyiv.

"In February 2022, Russia struck a heavy blow against the unbreakable spirit of the Ukrainian people. Czech weapons have been helping them in their fight since the beginning. In respect of the heroism of Ukrainians, I handed over the legendary CZ 75 with serial number 22 to Volodymyr Zelensky," Pavel tweeted.

The CZ 75 is a semi-automatic pistol made by Czech firearm manufacturer ČZUB in 1975. It was developed based on the 1935 Browning model and became widely used worldwide.

The Presidents of Czechia and Slovakia, Zuzana Čaputová, arrived in Ukraine on April 28. They had to hold one of the meetings in a shelter (Ukr) due to an air raid alarm.

Following the first day of trips to the north of Kyiv region and key meetings in the capital, the presidents stayed overnight, which is quite a rare occurrence for visits by foreign top officials during a full-scale war.

On Saturday night, Petr Pavel went to the Dnipropetrovsk region (Ukr), where Czechia focuses its support.
