"We received an 18 kW generator for a kindergarten attended by 200 children. This is very important for us. Thanks to this help, we will be able to ensure the operation of the boiler room and kitchen. So the premises will be heated and the children will be well-fed even during a power outage," said Daryna Halushka, director of the Dzhereltse kindergarten in Varva.

Yurii Muzyka, Head of the Department of Education and Science at Chernihiv Oblast State Administration, said that Latvian partners are planning to provide computer equipment for educational institutions.

In early December, it was reported that Riga had handed over ten buses for public transport to Chernihiv, as well as humanitarian aid collected by the city's residents.

During his last visit to Ukraine, Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs also visited Chernihiv to see the installation of modular buildings funded by Latvia.

He said that Latvia had allocated €5 million for rebuilding Chernihiv Oblast and was planning to allocate the same amount for that purpose again.
