Ukraine's Defence Ministry assures that PURL contributions sufficient to continue weapons deliveries from US

Monday, 1 June 2026 —

Partner countries' contributions to the PURL programme are sufficient to continue deliveries of critical weapons to Ukraine from the United States, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence has stated. [The Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) programme allows NATO allies to finance purchases of US-made weapons for Ukraine – ed.].

"The volume of contributions to the PURL programme is sufficient to continue deliveries of critical weapons to Ukraine from the US; assistance continues to arrive," the ministry said, as quoted by Ukrinform.

The ministry noted, however, that it will not disclose data on the amount of the aid, the list of participating countries, the range of weapons or contract terms.

"During martial law, this information is classified and is not commented on publicly," the ministry explained.

The Office of the President of Ukraine previously reported that the PURL programme has so far attracted nearly US$5.5 billion.

European allies are increasingly concerned about the future of the PURL programme, amid concerns that the war in Iran is depleting American stockpiles.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte believes Ukraine will continue to receive American weapons paid for by its partners despite the Middle East war factor.

He is also optimistic that Ukraine's partners will continue to find the necessary funds to finance the purchase of American weapons through the PURL initiative.
