Poland detains nine Ukrainians and two Belarusians recruited by Russia
Poland has detained and intends to deport nine Ukrainian citizens and two Belarusians who intelligence services say recruited Ukrainians and paid them to take part in demonstrations, acting on instructions from Russia.
Tomasz Siemoniak, Poland's Minister and Coordinator of the Special Services, said officers of Poland's Internal Security Agency, working with the Border Guard Service, detained the nine Ukrainian citizens and two Belarusian citizens, who will be immediately deported.

"Since autumn 2025, these individuals have been recruiting people and paying them to take part in demonstrations organised by Ukrainian refugees living in Poland. Based on the findings of Poland's Internal Security Agency, the initiative and funding for this activity originated from Russia, and these actions are classified as an attempt to influence Ukrainian migrants in Poland," he said.
Siemoniak did not specify which demonstrations he was referring to.
In May, Spain extradited a Ukrainian man suspected of spying for Russia to Germany.
