The leaders of France, the UK and Germany will meet in London on Sunday 7 June, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has also been invited to meet with them.

The French president's office has announced that Emmanuel Macron will travel to London on 7 June for talks with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. They will then meet with Zelenskyy, who has also been invited to London.

"This meeting will allow us to continue our close coordination on our shared agenda of maintaining support for Ukraine and increasing pressure on Russia," the Élysée Palace said, adding that Russia is currently facing a difficult economic and strategic situation and is not achieving success on the battlefield.

"This meeting will also provide an opportunity to discuss efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace in Ukraine and Europe, particularly with regard to the Coalition of the Willing," the Élysée Palace added.

Macron is scheduled to arrive at Downing Street at 18:30 local time, whereupon the European leaders' trilateral meeting will begin immediately.

The meeting between Starmer, Macron and Merz and Zelenskyy is due to begin an hour later.

Earlier, it was announced that France will host the next meeting of the Coalition of the Willing in Paris on 13-14 July.

After a meeting on 24 February, more than 30 countries participating in the Coalition of the Willing confirmed their role in providing multi-layered security guarantees for Ukraine with US support.

On 6 January, Starmer, Macron and Zelenskyy signed a declaration of intent on deploying troops in Ukraine if a peace agreement is concluded.
