European Commission confirms 21st sanctions package against Russia will be ready this week

The European Commission will complete work this week on the EU's 21st sanctions package against Russia and submit it to the Council of the European Union for approval.

Paula Pinho, chief spokesperson for the European Commission, confirmed that the 21st sanctions package against Russia will be ready this week.

It was reported earlier that the new sanctions package will be presented in the first half of June.

Kaja Kallas, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, announced earlier that the EU's 21st Russia sanctions package could include measures targeting Russia's military-industrial complex and its shadow fleet.

European Pravda's sources said the EU wants to approve the 21st sanctions package against Russia by 15 July, the deadline for updating the price cap on Russian oil.
