Moldova says drone that entered country this morning was jet-powered

Moldovan Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatii has said that a drone that entered Moldovan territory in the morning was jet-powered.

As reported by Moldovan media outlet NewsMaker, Nosatii was referring to a drone that entered the airspace over the unrecognised Transnistria at 10:26.

"It is currently moving towards Soroca. It is a jet-powered drone, and its speed is about 400 km/h," the minister said.

A drone flew through Moldovan airspace on the morning of 30 September before crashing outside the village of Hîrbovăț in Anenii Noi District and exploding.

According to Moldova's General Inspectorate of Police, the drone exploded at an altitude of 40 m above the ground after striking a telecommunications mast.
