The European Commission has proposed to prolong the temporary protection for people fleeing Russian aggression against Ukraine for another year, from 5 March 2025 to 4 March 2026.

In view of Russia's attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, the country will receive €500 million to repair damaged energy facilities and 1,000 solar panels and generators, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said during the first day of the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Berlin on 11 June.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has confirmed that Ukraine has completed all the necessary steps to start EU accession negotiations by the end of this month.

Several states have asked Sweden to put on hold the plans to send Gripen fighter jets to Ukraine in order to focus on delivering F-16s.

In response to the decision to enable Ukrainian forces to strike Russia, Josep Borrell, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, stated that a balance must be maintained between the risk of escalation and Ukraine's need to protect itself.
